The Zoo has opened its doors in 1992 as a cafe. It is all about music. Supporting young and unknown 'never bands', this spot has become a popular haven for aspiring musicians.
Rock, pop and jazz to folk, dub and reggae all are played with great verve. It has been dishing out loads of live music and even a few friendly ghosts. Many new artistes join the Zoo's staff list.
The live tunes at Zoo range from rock and pop all the way through to folk and dub. Every Saturday afternoon's Dub Sessions event provides chilled reggae beats, as well as free pool, board games and cheap sangers.
It also offers live performances from local, national and international acts. It stages mostly independent music from a multitude of styles, including popular international acts. The DJ's provide pulsating music which sets your feet tapping.
The Zoo is Brisbane's most long standing live music venue. It is open Wednesday to Saturday. It also features music from all parts of the globe. It also helps to get new talent into the grove as well as touring Australian bands and lesser known local act.
Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 11am - 5pm

Posted by Jaja, 17 February, 2008This is the super club for me! set in a very inviting place, very conducive for partying, dancing and drinking. The crowds that frequent this bar are extra cool and their martinis are a must.
