Movies are playing an important role in Globalization, and you can be part of one such film festival showcasing the best and most interesting delights of world cinema. You can take more then a few days off all commitments in July or August as the Brisbane International Film Festival comes to town.

The Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF) is Queensland's premier film event. The Festival provides a focus for film culture in Queensland by, screening nearly 300 films.

This Festival is also famous for launching films like The Full Monty, Gettin' Square and In America. It's no wonder BIFF has attracted some of the biggest names in show business, such as Kevin Spacey, Bryan Brown, Geoffrey Rush and its patrons.

It had the world premiere of Baz Luhrmann's screen extravaganza, Strictly Ballroom; Festival captures the imagination of the film enthusiasts showcasing them with mix of local and international films.

A diverse range of spectacular and powerful documentaries, films on filmmaking, retrospectives, animation, experimental work, late night thrillers, children's films, a short film competition and much more are a treat to watch. The festival prides itself on showcasing work from the Asia Pacific region.
