Showing the latest and best in quality film releases, the Dendy is the only cinema in Brisbane that offers a world of appreciation for finer cinema goers.

Located in the heart of the city at 346 George St, the Dendy Cinema is one of the few authentic 1940s cinemas left standing. Its history began in the 1940s as the Lyceum Cinema.

Affectionately known as the 'Bug House' because of its name, it was reopened as The George Cinema in the 1960s until Dendy saw its value and charm and reopened the cinema in the beginning of 1995.

Their cinemas are fully licensed! Items available from the Candy Bar include: Fine selections of Red and White Wines, Beers and Champagnes. Choc Tops and Connoisseur Ice cream tubs. Gourmet flavored chips and specialized confectionery lines.

The Dendy Cinema is the most prominent art house cinema in Brisbane. Modest from the outside, the interior has tasteful and romantic decor creating a perfect atmosphere for the exciting range of films that are shown

The Dendy cinema chain now operates 17 screens in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane and Byron Bay.
